Ginkgo biloba extract (EGB) uses green ginkgo leaves (2~5 years old) as raw materials, 70% of Gingko Biloba L. currently be cultivated in China and about 20,000 Tons of dry leaves will be collected in China each year. More than 160 components isolated from the ginkgo tree have been identified, Flavonoids (35 kinds) and Terpenoids believed to be responsible for the herb's medicinal effects, Flavonoids are plant-based antioxidants which protect the nerves, heart muscle, blood vessels, and retina from damage. Terpenoids improve blood flow by dilating blood vessels and reducing the stickiness of platelets. EGB will enable older adults particularly to maintain normal cardiac output, as well as to maintain the normal function of the nervous system, to keep normal cell life cycle, and to maintain dreams of youth, vitality and capacity.
