Monk Fruit/Luo Han Guo is the fruit of plant Momordica grosvenori swingle, Cucurbitaceae, which grows abundantly in mountainous districts of South China. It contains many useful ingredients including mogrosides, vitamins, amino acid, and so on. Traditional herbalist doctors have used Luo Han Guo as an expectorant medicine for more than 300 years. The sweet compound from Luo Han Guo is about 300 times sweeter than cane sugar and is extremely low in calories, so it is a good natural sweetener for patients suffering from those diseases forbidden to take sugar, such as diabetes, adiposity, high blood pressure, cardiopathy, and so on.
