Product Introduction
Ginkgo biloba extract (EGB) is derived from the fresh leaves of the Ginkgo biloba tree, typically harvested when the leaves are between two to five years old. China is the world's leading producer, cultivating approximately 70% of the global Ginkgo biloba supply and yielding around 20,000 tons of dried leaves annually. To date, more than 160 distinct compounds have been identified within the ginkgo tree, with flavonoids (35 types) and terpenoids considered the primary bioactive constituents responsible for its therapeutic properties. Flavonoids, which are natural antioxidants of plant origin, help protect nerve cells, cardiac tissue, blood vessels, and the retina from oxidative damage. Terpenoids contribute to enhanced circulation by promoting vasodilation and inhibiting platelet aggregation. For older adults in particular, EGB may support healthy cardiac output, assist in maintaining normal nervous system function, promote cellular health throughout the life cycle, and help sustain vitality and cognitive agility. Additionally, it is widely used in the prevention and management of cardiovascular conditions, as well as in helping to mitigate risks associated with hypertension, stroke, diabetes, and related disorders.
